I kept hearing this term “brown fat” keep getting tossed around. With cold showers, certain foods, how our body stores energy, etc… I kept hearing how this is the type of fat you actually want, so I decided to do a little bit of a deep dive on the google machine and tell you all a little bit of what I learned. But, y’all. I’m not an expert, so like…. do your own research.
Two biological facts that I have seen is that brown fat is big in thermoregulation (aka help us maintain warmth) when it’s be cold and it gets its color from the large amounts of mitochondria it contains. Shawn Stevenson, writer of “Eat Smarter”, states, “Brown fat can be a key ingredient in a robust metabolism.”
There is a lot of research done on brown fat and what it’s benefits are, yet what you should know is how important it is to understand how you can use it to your advantage to be the healthiest version of you. As I deep dive more into “Eat Smarter”, I will bring more info on this to you all.
