Let’s Get Started

Okay, so hopefully you are here for one of a couple reasons. You are interested in learning how to live your best life, you want to expand your knowledge on all the thangs, or you are nosey and just want to see what I have going on here. (Kidding about that last one 😉 ) No but really, I started this blog and podcast for a few reasons. As a young female who is learning how to live with a mental illness while working in EMS, I’ve realized that there are not many open forums on where it is safe to talk about these things. My journey from where I started to where I am today is a long, complex, rocky one, and I think it is so important that we have an outlet for these things.

I have been thinking about starting this blog for quite sometime and the name of it came to me while I was sitting in church like 2 years ago. We were in a series called “Unleash Love”, and even though I won’t bring the bible into this blog, I think this is worth mentioning. In the bible, there is a passage where it states we need to spread love “here, there, and everywhere” and we need to live life “Akolutos”, meaning without hindrance. As I sat there, I thought about how rare that is in life. We are so quick to judge others, so quick to judge ourselves, that we do not think how we actually want to live our life. We are so worried about what others may think or what’s in it for us that we simply do not love enough. I’m not talking about just loving one another more, but loving ourselves. Giving ourselves grace when we need to. Nourishing our mind, body, and spirits with all the good things. Whether that means meeting up with friends, going for a run, or eating more veggies. It’s so easy for us to get caught up in the hustle bustle of life that we don’t stop and think “What do I need right now”. And that’s what I hope to bring to you all. Solid content filled with useful, tangible things that you can apply to your life to help you live a more fulfilling one. A place where you can ask questions and discuss things openly without judgement or fear.

We need to be more kind to ourselves and one another. And as always, if you ever have suggestions, questions, or ideas you want me to bring here, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Enjoy!

Xo,

Shannon
